ARTY TYPES - Painting & Drawing Classes -Rugby Area Autumn/Winter 09

I am re-establishing my Evening Painting & Drawing Classes this Autumn in the Rugby Area. 'The Arty Types' Evening Class offers a friendly and supportive atmosphere in which to explore and develop different styles techniques and mediums in painting and drawing. All abilities are welcome from complete novices with a keen interest in art to those nurturing a existing talent. In our exploration of methods and techniques we will dip into a little art history and find influence in the great painters of the past. Painting and drawing can focus the mind, relax the body, improve skills of perception and offer a beneficial and therapeutic break from the stresses and noise of everyday life. If you want to avoid the winter blues on these dark nights come and join us you will be very welcome!! For the Initial 5 two hour sessions the costs is just £50, Refreshments and basic drawing materials (needed for the first session) are supplied. Painting packs and other materials will be supplied at an extra cost or can be obtained at local art shops.

The Amazing Chang: The Magic of Whittington-Wickes

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, The Pump Rooms
Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

This event has been the birth child of myself, Changs biographer Sandra Evans and His son Film Director and Golden Globe Award Winner David Wickes. The team at the Leamington Art Gallery & Museum have helped us to realise our vision by creating an exhibition that will echant and inspire all. Local Art Student Fran Booth and I have also undertaken the commission to recreate several of Changs props, which appear in black and white photographs of Chang, which will be on display as part of the exhibition. Many artefacts, phtographs, tricks and props have been brought to us by numerous lenders, insuring a full and exciting event. Surviving History: Portraits from Vilna, Exhibtion, Documentary Screenings and Workshops

10 September - 9 October 2009

Commission; to construct 2 memory cupboards for the visual biography part of the exhibition, based on artifacts and memories leant by 2 holocaust surviviors in Lithuania Rachel Kostanian and Joseph Levinson.
